Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naive newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. But when Cady and her friends devise a "Revenge Party" to end Regina’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t cross a queen bee without getting stung.
Adapted from Fey's hit 2004 film, Mean Girls was nominated for a staggering 12 Tony Awards. This show took Broadway by storm and has since joined the musical in-crowd.
Mean Girls the High School Version has also ranked in the top-ten most produced musicals by high schools since its release in 2023. While a cultural phenomenon with iconic lines (“She doesn’t even go here!”), this show is rated PG-13+ and is not for all ages. The musical addresses high school bullying, mean girl behavior, issues with body image, and other teen-centric matters through humor, but also in a frank manner that uses teen-centric language. While Indian Creek did use many of the changes the writers offer, swearing and rude gestures are present. We ask families to make their own choices when attending this production. You can email the directors directly and they can answer any questions you may have.
We are proud of the work this cast has done and can’t wait for the audiences to see them shine on stage!
