Kaycie Bowen

Bowie State University - B.A.
University of Maryland - M.A.
Notre Dame of Maryland University - M.A.

Ms. Bowen joins the ICS faculty from Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Maryland, where she has served as Assistant Principal for the past 15 years -most recently as Academic Vice Principal. Prior to this, she worked as a classroom teacher in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools System.

A passionate educator, Ms. Bowen believes that collaboration, character, and communication create strong leaders and premier schools. She places high priority on creating a culture of mutual trust and respect between students and faculty in order to create a safe and inclusive environment that allows students to build confidence and challenge themselves.

Ms. Bowen's appointment is the culmination of a nation-wide search conducted by a committee of ICS faculty, which included over 50 applicants, 7 semi-finalists, and three candidates who each visited the School, spending time with ICS students, parents, Trustees, faculty, and staff. Ms. Bowen will officially join the ICS Leadership team this summer, when current Upper School Principal Eliza McLaren departs for a new role as Head of School at The Wellington School in Columbus, Ohio.

While Bowen has been a part of the ICS community for years as a parent to Katelyn '29, she is excited to officially join the Upper School team: "I am both grateful and humbled to be an educator at Indian Creek. I look forward to being an impactful part of this community of kindness, resilience, and academic excellence that I have appreciated for so long."
