AP exams will be administered at ICS May 1 – 11. Please reference the chart below for the exact date and time of your AP exam. Exam dates and times can also be found by logging into your College Board account. The length of the AP test varies by subject, but plan for approximately 3 hours of actual testing time. There is one 10-minute break during the exam. You may bring water and a small snack to consume during the break.
Attendance
Students who opted out of an AP exam must attend their regular classes on the day of the AP exam. Students taking AP exams are NOT required to attend their regular classes the day(s) of their AP exam(s). You may leave after your morning exam or arrive later in the day for your afternoon exam. Students will be marked “present” when they arrive to take their scheduled exam. If you decide to remain at school before or after your exam, you must attend your regularly scheduled classes. We will not have an area for you to wait. Please make arrangements for transportation to and from AP exams. Students departing after exams should use the Atrium for departure.
Arrival and Dismissal
Upon arrival, students should check in at the Atrium and receive their testing room location.
Students are required to arrive no later than 7:45 a.m. for an 8:00 a.m. exam.These exams will end around 11:30 a.m.Students arriving late will not be able to test.
Students are required to arrive no later than 11:45 a.m. for a 12:00 p.m. exam.Most afternoon exams will not end until 3:30 p.m.Students arriving late will not be able to test.
Students testing with accommodations will have the same start time of the exam but will finish later.
Students will not be dismissed until the exam has officially ended.Students should not ask to leave early if they finish before the end of the test.The request will be denied.
Students who play a sport or have a job are responsible for informing their coaches or employers of the AP obligations and plan accordingly.
Students who feel ill the day of the exam are required to bring a doctor’s note to qualify for alternate day testing.A parent or student should contact the school immediately.Please note that the alternate testing dates will be May 17-19 and approval of these exams is at the discretion of the College Board.
Students taking two exams at ICS on the same day should bring a snack and a bag lunch.There will not be time to go out and get lunch between exams.
Digital Exams
Students enrolled in Computer Science Principles, English Language & Composition, English Literature & Composition, Modern World History, Seminar, & US History will be taking digital exams on their personal devices. To ensure a successful testing experience, you must do the following:
Bring a personal testing device (a PC laptop, iPad, or Mac laptop) that connects to Wi-Fi on your exam day. You cannot take the AP exam on a mobile phone. Your testing device must run Windows 10 or later (PC users), macOS 11.4 or later (Mac users), or iPadOS 14 or later (iPad users). If needed, be sure to update your operating systems before your exam day.
Prior to exam day, use this linkhttps://bluebook.app.collegeboard.org/to download the Bluebook testing app on your device. Once downloaded, log in using your College Board login credentials. You will be able to see a preview of the test layout, and a practice exam is also available.
On testing day, please bring your testing device fully charged. You may wish to bring a portable charger.
Paper Exams
Students enrolled in Biology, Calculus AB/BC, Computer Science A, Physics 1, Psychology, Spanish Language & Culture, Statistics, and US Government & Politics will be taking paper exams. Please bring two #2 pencils and two pens, black or blue ink. Mechanical pencils are not allowed.
