College Board Awards Indian Creek School AP Honor Roll Platinum Status
[CROWNSVILLE, MD] – The College Board announced today that Indian Creek School has been named to the Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll, earning Platinum distinction.
The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs include a high percentage of participating students scoring at high levels. This recognition acknowledges Indian Creek's commitment to providing opportunities for students to earn college credit and maximizing college readiness. The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum, based on the percentage of students who successfully complete AP courses, the average number of AP courses taken, and the percentage of students who receive high scores on their AP exams. Indian Creek earned Platinum distinction - the highest honor.
In 2023, Indian Creek surpassed the College Board's top-level bars in college culture, credit, and optimization, reporting 85% of seniors who took at least one AP exam during high school, 52% of seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP exam, and 26% of seniors who took five or more AP exams.
Head of School Booth Kyle shared his pride upon learning of this distinction. "This recognition acknowledges the depth and breadth of studies that ICS students achieve. I am proud of our students and our school."
