Creek Lacrosse Hosts England's Metro Team for Crosse Over Event

An event that displayed international athleticism and camaraderie took place on Friday, July 26...not in Paris, France, but at our own Eagles Athletics Complex!

Indian Creek players on the Crosse Over lacrosse team were excited to host team Metro from England, who are visiting the United States to play lacrosse against local organizations. Crosse Over Director (and ICS parent) Jeff Bunker arranged for the England team to play against a team comprising ICS Upper and Middle School players. The game was co coached by IAAM Coach of the Year (and Eagles Varsity Coach) Danielle Stanton and ICS parent Lew Shapiro. The two teams played a great game of lacrosse, with the Creek girls coming out on top 21-18.

The Crosse Over program was founded close to 30 years ago by beloved former ICS coach Steve Willett.
The international program alternates years of play with the Metro girls being hosted here in the U.S. on even years and the Crosse Over girls traveling to England in the odd years.  The ICS team was very excited to be a part of one of the six games that the Metro girls played during their two week stay.

Thanks to team Metro and Crosse Over for sharing this great experience with our Eagles!
