Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Character Honored as 19 Students are Inducted to National Honor Society
Scholarship ~ Service ~ Leadership ~ Character
Indian Creek celebrated these attributes, and the many ways that they are brought to life at the School, as 19 students were inducted into the National Honor Society in a ceremony on Monday, October 21.
During this event, Head of School Booth Kyle welcomed families and spoke of the importance of not just academic excellence, but strong character in school and throughout life. "National Honor Society is a celebration of educational excellence at ICS. This is an organization dedicated to promoting the qualities that are important to us as a school – scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Not every applicant who has qualifying academic grades is offered membership. This evening’s inductees have demonstrated that they possess each of these qualities to their teachers and peers."
Following this, the National Honor Society officers called the induction to order and shared more information about each of the qualities that this society holds dear. ICS Chapter Advisor Tricia Roth reminded the group that by being a part of the National Honor Society, these 19 students are joining a prestigious legion of alumni who are out doing great things. Finally, Upper School Principal Kaycie Bowen wished the new members of the ICS NHS well and encouraged them to serve as role models for those to come after them through the halls of the school, saying, "Congratulations. We are proud of you."
