This year, the Upper School Performing Arts department tackles true drama, by presenting a series of works that deal with the human experience of finding comfort, strength, and hope in the face of adversity. Our fall production opens with TOPICS (Theater of Purpose at Indian Creek School), a series of monologues and scenes that support the themes of the marquee show, These Shining Lives. Our TOPICS actors will portray works dealing with feminism, the female experience in the workplace, friendship, and more.
THESE SHINING LIVES chronicles the true story of strength and determination of "The Radium Girls," four women who worked for the Radium Dial Company. Catherine and her friends are dying, it’s true; but theirs is a story of survival in its most transcendent sense, as they refuse to allow the company that stole their health to kill their spirits—or endanger the lives of those who come after them.
