    • Black Student Alliance (BSA)
      • MS BSA is an alliance club that creates a space for black students and their allies to come together and discuss issues that affect the black community both inside ICS and the world at large.  We are currently discussing how to best impact the ICS community in terms of black history and culture as well as discussing current events. The most recent current event item discussed was the remake of The Little Mermaid, and the importance of representation.  Each meeting we share a fact highlighting black history and culture while we continue to have thoughtful conversations about race, ethnicity, and the Black community in the United States.
    • Green Club
      • Green club is investigating what we can do to make the school more environmentally friendly.  We're starting a recycling program in the LS and MS, and we made posters and publicized what is recyclable on campus and what is not.
    • Crafting for Causes
      • Crafting for Causes Club makes crafts for people or pets in need! Currently, we have partnered with the SPCA of Annapolis to make dog beds for their shelter. Students first brainstormed to figure out which topic they wanted to focus on. After deciding on making beds for animal shelters, students worked on finding a pattern for the dog beds. Now, students are making a supply list and writing an email proposal to Mrs. Mercer asking her to purchase their supplies with a budget in mind.
    • Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA)
      • The GSA club has established their goals in order to: Create a space where people can feel safe and confident in who they are, provide awareness and education to ourselves and others, have fun with people who support us and/ or are going through similar experiences, know how to respond to people who don’t necessarily accept people as they are, and provide a listening ear to others. In addition, students talk about themselves and their experiences and brainstorm ways to make ICS a welcoming place for all. The club also talks about each of the member's well-being and what strategies they can use to improve their daily lives.
    • One Love
      • We are focusing on what healthy relationships (friendships, family relationships, and partner relationships) look like, sound like, and feel like. We have listed qualities of healthy/strong relationships, made some posters to hang in the hallway, and analyzed some videos to identify whether the behavior displayed is healthy or unhealthy.
    • Writing to Change the World
      • This club uses the power of words to make a difference in the lives of individuals and society. Right now, about half of us are writing letters for children in the hospital, deployed soldiers, and people who are unable to get out of the house. The other half is working on writing documentaries about national issues of concern for the CSPAN StudentCam contest.
    • EMPOWER
      • This club provides a space for female-identifying students to discuss topics around feminism and the feminist movement.  We have been focusing on ways to empower others.  They have been analyzing what women empowerment means, brainstorming ways to spread awareness and empower others, and making posters!
