Name:  Lily Swope

School: Indian Creek School

Year:   Junior

Sport:  Swimming

Position: Freestyle/butterfly/backstroke

About Lily: Lily won the 100-yard butterfly with a new school record of 57.34, which was more than 14 seconds ahead of her closest pursuer at the C Conference championship last Monday. The junior standout also claimed the 100 back in another school-record 58.51, six seconds ahead of the runner-up. Lily’s 100 free (52.30) in a 400 free relay split is the fastest time in school history and would have placed first overall in the meet.

Throughout the season, Lily swam in seven of the eight possible individual events, never losing a race, according to ICS coach Kelly Boring.

“She has not lost a race in her three seasons,” Boring added. “Lily manages to attend as many high school practices as possible while managing the demands of club swimming. She helps coach on Wednesday nights (because she's already had two swim practices those days) and provides teammates with one-on-one technique instruction. Lily is an incredible swimmer, but her greatest contribution to ICS swimming is her ability to be a great teammate and supporter.”

Congratulations, Lily!
