Indian Creek Earns Platinum Status on AP Honor Roll

[CROWNSVILLE, MD] – The College Board announced this week that Indian Creek School has been named to the 2024 Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll, earning Platinum distinction.

The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.  ICS earned the Platinum status for exceeding the minimum benchmark for each of four criterion for the Platinum level:

  • College Culture: Percent of students in the graduating class who took an AP exam at any point in high school, regardless of score. Minimum score to achieve Platinum status: 80%; Indian Creek's Class of 2024: 98%.
  • College Credit: Percent of students in the graduating class who scored 3+ on any AP Exam in high school. Minimum score to achieve Platinum Status: 50%: Indian Creek's Class of 2024: 74%.
  • College Optimization: Percent of students in the graduating class who took 5 or more AP Exams in high school, where at least 1 exam was taken in 9th or 10th grade. Minimum score to achieve Platinum status: 15%; Indian Creek's Class of 2024: 40%.
As a college-preparatory institution, Indian Creek offers 17 AP courses in person and provides access to countless others through virtual partnerships. In 2024, 144 ICS students took 244 AP exams in 16 subjects.  Of these, 51 students earned AP recognition from the College Board: 28 AP Scholars, 9 AP Scholars with Honor, and 8 AP Scholars with Distinction; 2 AP Seminar and Research Certificates, and 4 AP Capstone Diplomas.
Surpassing the Platinum criteria in every category is evidence of the relentless pursuit of excellence shown by ICS students and faculty. Congratulations to the entire ICS community on this achievement.
