Indian Creek School is pleased to announce the hiring of Varsity Girls Lacrosse Program Director and Assistant Director of Admissions Jessica Wilkinson. Coach Wilkinson comes to Indian Creek after a 13-year career as Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Division I Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY.
This high-caliber addition to the Eagles Athletics program and to the admissions team will positively impact the experience of Indian Creek students and athletes on and off the field. During her time at Marist College, coach Wilkinson was the winningest coach in the women’s lacrosse program history. She is a three-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Coach of the year (2013, 2014, and 2018), and is proud to have developed hundreds of players, including NCAA Student-Athlete of the Year nominees, MAAC Female Student-Athletes of the Year, a national leader in saves per game, and several players ranked at the top of the NCAA in stats. She is proud that under her leadership, her athletes set academic records for athletes in Division I.
Coach Wilkinson holds a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Management from Wagner College in Staten Island, NY, and a bachelor's degree in communication with a concentration in advertising from Marist. Prior to joining the Indian Creek staff, she served as a Sales Professional at BSN Sports.
As she steps in to lead the Eagles, Coach Wilkinson is joining a program ready to soar to great heights. Under the leadership of local Lacrosse legend Steve Willett, followed by IAAM two-time Coach of the Year Danielle Stanton, Eagles Varsity Girls Lacrosse has won three IAAM Championship titles (2022, 2021, 2013) and is looking for more hardware.
ICS Director of Athletics Freddie Newman is confident that Wilkinson is the leader to get them there. "We are ecstatic to welcome Coach Jessica Wilkinson to our Eagle family. She is a passionate and dynamic leader who is committed to helping Eagles Lacrosse grow as a program. Her knowledge of the game and ability to connect meaningfully with student athletes will be invaluable to our school."
Coach Wilkinson is equally excited to be part of the ICS community. “Indian Creek has an energy to its athletics and community that is felt as soon as you step on campus. For this, joining ICS was an easy decision for me as a coach. As Varsity Girls Lacrosse Program Director I hope to continue to elevate the level of play of the program while also instilling a sense of unwavering pride for the Creek community. I look forward to working with and coaching the members of the program as soon as possible. Thank you to Athletic Director Freddie Newman and Head of School Booth Kyle for giving me this opportunity. GO EAGLES!”
The Eagles Athletics Department will hold meet-and-greet events for players and their families over the next few weeks.
