AIMS AI Summit

This one-day summithosted by Indian Creek School (ICS), aims to bring independent school educators together to discuss the impacts of AI on teaching and learning and how we can collaborate as educators and learners to design AI-aware classrooms that promote creativity, inquiry, academic integrity, and agency.

Driving Questions
How does AI accelerate the need for creativity, collaboration, inquiry, and identity in the classroom? How can we embrace this moment of redesign and innovation? What are the opportunities and dangers of AI use? Should AI be regulated in society and schools? What school policies do we need to adapt and evolve? How can we create AI-aware classrooms and strengthen academic integrity in our classrooms?

Anticipated Outcomes
Educators will:
- better understand AI, its role in the learning process, and ways to design learning to promote student agency and creativity.
- have ideas of how to design and innovate in their classrooms so that AI becomes a tool for learning, not a driver.
- review the progress their schools made this year
- discuss roadblocks and successes
- compare programs at other schools and devise collaborations with other schools as well!

Using a think tank model educators will have a document to bring back to their schools outlining recommendations for teachers and policy makers for AI in their schools.
